piclady > STL09-152 Me rinsing the Mississippi Mud off my feet with my motorhome's outdoor shower at the confluence of the Mississippi & Ohio Rivers in Cairo, IL in July 2009 (pronounced "CAY'-row). It's always been and always will be a requirement to "beat my feet on the Mississippi Mud" when I visit! That river lives in my heart.
piclady > STL09-112 Me in front of the AEP MEMCO towboat M/V Susie Cooney at the confluence of the Mississippi & Ohio Rivers in Cairo, IL in July 2009 (pronounced "CAY'-row). She is a 7,200 hp Dravco built towboat measuring 200' x 45'. Notice the green light above the pilot house. That signifies that she is "in service'. She was waiting for another "tow" to be attached so she could continue up into the Ohio River to deliver grain.
piclady > STL09-219 This is the house where I lived from 1953-1971 in Florissant, St. Louis County, Missouri. The owners have done a good job keeping it just like it was when mom sold it in 1988. Oh, I have so many wonderful memories of this house....
piclady > STL09-904 Daddy's gravestone at Jefferson Barracks National Military Cemetery, St. Louis County, Missouri. When he was buried they were putting flat markers in. The rest of the cemetery has the upright stones and he is right by that area. The cemetery looks like Arlington National Cemetery without Robert E. Lee's home.
piclady > STL09-223 Mom's gravestone at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Florissant, St. Louis County, Missouri. When Daddy died, she married Francis J. Weiss.
piclady > STL09-227 My step-father's gravesite at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Florissant, St. Louis County, Missouri. He is buried with his first wife, Lois. Fran was one cool guy!
piclady > STL09-1736 The cemetery in Crestwood, St. Louis County, Missouri where some of Jack's family are buried. Notice the sign that reads "Library of Names". Is that not cool to think that way of those buried there. Oh, the stories that they could tell to fill unlimited libraries!
piclady > STL09-1698 Jack's paternal grandparents, Joseph Heitman & Mary Duensing Heitman. He was an immigrant that immigrated from Romania through Hamburg, Germany to make a better life in America.
piclady > STL09-1710 Jack's father Harvey Francis Heitman and step-dad, Robert E. Gwinn. Jack's mom Ruth will be buried between the two when she passes away. We're hoping that won't be for a long time.
