Metropolis, IL is a quaint little town located on the banks of the Ohio River in Massac Co. in Southern Illinois. It's not a big town, just 65, 482 citizens according to the 2000 U.S. Census. The town also boasts Harrah Metropolis Hotel l& Casino on the waterfront. These murals are painted on the side of a brick building in the center of town Infamous for it's flooding, the people of the town decided to memorialize these historic events.
